Loretta Maase Forensic Evaluation

FORENSIC FILE REVIEWS

For parents who fear their children are being turned against them & for parents who are being accused of alienating their children from the other parent.

Our comprehensive parental alienation/ estrangement assessment provides an unbiased, objective analysis of the origins and progression of parent/child contact problems.

NOTE: Not all contact problems are due to alienation. There are times when parents own behaviors create the estrangement with their children and the rejection is justified.

Using research-based, defensible diagnostic tools, we are able to systematically root out and diagnose estrangement (due to abuse/neglect/domestic violence and/or substance abuse), parental alienation, or the rare hybrid (where both alienation and estrangement are present).

We provide a full and detailed report of our findings at the conclusion of the assessment.

Parental alienation assessments involving contact with both parents, children, and collaterals require a court, or agreed, order. However, forensic file reviews do not, and most of the time prove to be just as effective.

COURT APPOINTED EVALUATION

Family systems evaluation to determine the correct cause of a child’s rejection of a parent. I do a comprehensive evaluation of the family dynamics, this is not a custody evaluation.

Whether intentional or unintentional, parents can interfere with the relationship between children and their other parent.

We can help assess if this is happening and provide counseling and/or education services to help you identify and correct any harmful attitudes or behaviors.

This assessment, counseling, and/or education service is often used in court to demonstrate 1) the parent taking ownership of his or her role in contributing to contact problems between the child(ren) and the other parent. And 2) a corrective action plan for the parent to take a more supportive role in his/her child(ren)’s relationship with the other parent.

Parent Coaching for rejected parents

Specializing in Coaching and Education for Parents Who are Losing, or At Risk of Losing, Their Children.

Option 1:  Attend structured online class where parents will learn about meeting developmental needs, setting appropriate boundaries, and common mistakes target parents make in parenting resistant or rejecting children – and how to avoid or overcome those mistakes.

Option 2:  One on one coaching with Loretta Maase in a more informal setting, while still learning about effecting parenting and avoiding common mistakes.

Option 3: Three-day intensive retreats for target parents, with the goal of reducing litigation through effective Parent Strategies.

Coaching is not considered counseling. Therefore, the coaching programs are not therapeutic/psychoanalytic in nature and we do not process individual feelings and personal, unrelated issues.

Parent Coaching can also include case consultation with attorneys.

Reunification THERAPY

For mild parental alienation. Services for the whole family.

What is the difference between estrangement and parental alienation? Estrangement is a child’s rejection of a parent for a variety of bona fide reasons (lack of contact over time between parent and child, abuse/neglect, substance abuse, etc.).

Parent Alienation is the child’s disproportional rejection of a parent for no valid reason. The rejection does not equal the child’s experience of that parent. Our reunification program includes a mini assessment to evaluate for estrangement vs. mild parental alienation. Depending on our assessment outcome, individual counseling services for the offending parent may be recommended before reunification services can begin. Reunification for mild parental alienation includes carefully coordinated, specialized, weekly family therapy with the child(ren) and the alienated parent. Our Reunification program is attended by agreement of the parents or by court order.

Consultation with attorneys

Consultation with attorneys

As a member of the team, Ms. Maase assists attorneys with case development.
She: reviews client files, Guardian ad Litem files, Custody Evaluator files, therapy files, motions, orders, client communications – whatever the attorney needs to develop his or her case including developing questions for hearings and depositions.

Ms. Maase also helps develop comprehensive timelines based on case evidence, and then applies a vast amount of research and established science in interpreting the timeline and case file documentation to help rule-in or rule-out parent alienation, estrangement, child abuse, child neglect, and more.

In short, Ms. Maase is able to read the file and advise attorneys on case development whether it’s parental alienation, estrangement (abuse/neglect), or anything in-between.

As a non-discoverable consultant on the team (and a specialist in parent coaching), Ms. Maase also assesses and coaches parents on strategies for corrective parenting and navigating the seemingly endless struggles of litigating high conflict divorces and custody battles.

Conversely, if the client is, or has been, engaged in abusive-type behaviors, Ms. Maase will assess parent stability and provide strategies for dealing with findings of abuse and/or neglect.
